Inaugural Executive
Round Table Conference

Business Machines (MBM), a member of the Ansa McAl Group
of Companies in association with its global partner
Satyam Computer Services Ltd, hosted the first Caribbean
Executive Round Table Conference in Trinidad on June 30. The
conference was a milestone event marking the newly
established IT partnership between the two companies.

Speaking at
the Trinidad Hilton, H.E. Mr. Virendra Gupta, Indian High
Commissioner to Trinidad, had these words to say... "I am
pleased to announce the partnership between MBM and Satyam.
The partnership is truly historical and marks the beginning
of a new and exciting chapter in our growing cooperation
between Trinidad & Tobago and India. It is widely
acknowledged that Technology accelerates the pace of
development and that Information and Communication
Technology indeed multiplies efficiency in every sphere of
human endeavour. I sincerely hope that this partnership
would enable Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean
region to directly draw on Indian IT skills for the benefit
of one and all. My best wishes for its success."
The Caribbean
Round Table is one of many such initiatives taken by Satyam
to provide global business leaders with the mechanism needed
to express their concerns on the issues that impact upon
their business such as globalisation, higher quality
standards, improving returns on IT investments, and
developing new business opportunities while cutting costs.
The Round
table attracted the participation of more than 70 of the
Caribbean's top business elite, including top Management
from Scotiabank, RBTT Financial Group, MITTAL, MCB, UTS,
Republic Bank Limited, Petrotrin, Bank Van de Nederlandse
Antillen, Brydens Business Solutions, Barbados and National
Bank of Industry and Commerce,"The partnership between MBM
and Satyam is part of the Companies' strategy to expand into
complimentary areas of business. As one of the largest
conglomerates in the Caribbean, we are always searching for
partnerships that are able to provide us with the best
end-to-end solutions to our wide customer base as well as
